Biography |
I graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with my Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Music Education and Vocal Performance (2006). My senior capstone project was on the development of a “Teacher’s Toolbox” to be used in private studio instruction since every teacher needs resources at hand. Studying classical voice under Dr. JoAnne Stephenson for four years, I learned to sing proficiently in six languages: German, Italian, French, Spanish, Latin and English. I am well acquainted with a variety of genres including standards, jazz, German folk songs, musical theatre/show tunes as well as classical. I have performed professionally for ten years in many venues throughout Florida including elks/moose lodges, ethnic clubs, universities/colleges, retirement homes, weddings, dances, churches and for city sponsored events. I have accompanied many students at various solo/ensemble events and concerts and I have also been a technician at band camps as well as running sectionals for choir classes. As I participated in both choir and band in high school, I am well acquainted with the many festivals and events throughout the year in both. I was able to participate in Allstate choir, state solo/ensemble, a school musical and musical theatre review, honor jazz band, accompany the beginning orchestra, and was also a drum major in the marching band. I was fortunate to be able to participate in many different facets of music and it has tremendously helped me add tools in my “Teacher’s Toolbox.” |
